the Potluck BBQ get Together

Hey thereeeeee....

It's another girls' get together thingy... This time it's at Zilah's place in conjunction with his son's 5th birthday... The concept is BBQ potluck and the theme is Blue & White... Suggested by Zarina - she was technically the event planner... lol... Ironically she was the who wasn't in blue... Ok... It's blue black... But not blue enough, dear... Especially under the lights...

Came with Fara as both hubs were bz... So while waiting for the rest, we played 'masak-masak' at Zilah's kitchen... Lol...

Marissa arrived a little later with her bundle of joy, Nur Arissa Illana... Isn't she adorable? She's only 10 month but looking like a a year plus... Have a close look at her hands... Gerammm...

Zarina came later with a huge Ben 10 cake...

This is the cake that had Tuah goes ga-ga... He was eyeing on this cake for ages... It was all unplanned that Zarina got the cake... Macam tau2 jer... What a great choice made... Tuah's wish had somehow been granted and he is really happy about it... May u be filled with happiness too, Zarina... Aminnnn...

As for birthday present, instead of toys, i got him a book... Firstly, I didn't know what toy is 'in' rite now (besides Ben10)... and i do believe that a book can last longer... It may not get the kid's attention as toys does... but it surely work a long way...

Well, lets have peep on what we had on that evening...

These are the BBQ items. I brought the chicken - that was my part. According to Zarina, I have to bring i whole chicken - cut to 16 and marinate... After marination i lupa nk keluarkan earlier... Only brought it out at around 5... So the guys had difficulties BBQing it as it was still frozen... Sorry guys... So we had to microwave it first... That goodness it was ok... Tasted like satay... katanya... They loved it...

Fara brought sausages. Zilah prepared the skewer thingy. It's broccoli accompanied by capsicum. Loved the colour combination - red, green & yellow... Macam traffic light laks :) The broccoli was premixed with 'pasti sedap'... yummy....

Marissa brought the fried meehoon, specially prepared by her Mum... Gosh! She's superb when it comes to cooking... Chicken pie is her specialty... Sedapppppppp....

Zilah prepared the canapes... Just have a look at it... Gigih kan? She actually had the patience to prepare everything... She prepared 2 types, one with cracker based with tuna topping and the other one is toast based with salmon topping.

Zilah made this lovely fruit tartlet... Gosh it was heaven... One with chocolate filling and the other one is gelatin... Loved the chocolate one...

After stuffing ourselves with all those sinful dishes, Zilah brought out Nachos served with salsa sauce dip that she prepared. It was lovely...

The foods were simple, not too heavy, yet filling... The menu was just perfecto... It was just nice n sufficient...

All in all, it was a lovely evening... We indulged ourselves, talked, laughed and had so much fun... Sadly, one of us couldn't make it... Newly wed Nadira had to attend another event , so x cukup corum... We missed u, gal... Wished she was with us...

Initially we had one wajib meeting moment that is during Ramadhan... Apparently, we've decided to meet more often than before... This is the way we catch each other up n cherish friendship...

My deepest gratitude goes to Tuan Rumah - Nash, Zilah and lovely Tuah & Fansuri... Thanx for inviting us... Semoga murah rezeki uols sekeluarga... Not forgetting, Zarina's lil sista Zati for the taking our pics...
