Iftar with Double F

Had iftar with my luvely kazen, Azhan. His beloved wife, Linawati is my bestie but now became cousin. But sorry la nk panggil dia Kak Lynn kan.. I'll still call her Elly as how she still address my parents as Uncle (arwah-AlFatihah) and Auntie...

I address the lil heroes (abang - Faaris Aqeel & adik - Faaiq Adnan) as double F... Senang... Probably coz i'm being too contented with Ayu the Sun's blog kot... Ok Ayu! can tuntut royalty... lol

We had our lil rendezvous at Deli Cafe, Kota Damansara...

I had lasagna as how i blog... I don't think i need to elaborate further on this when actually this is my reason of coming here...

Hubs had Oriental Chicken Chop...

Elly had Wild Mushroom Soup, as in soup ok, not cream of mushroom soup... This is another item which i like most in this cafe... It's not like the normal mushroom soup, that's like instant.. Be it Maggi powder or Campbell.. But this is made from scratch... I talked to the owner, that's how i found out...

Rasa pun laen.. It's creamy but not too creamy... Got my point? But u don't feel so 'powderish' (got such word mehh!!) as how u had pizza hut's soup... ops!!! sorry but it's reality...

The soup ada small particles of mushroom and some potatoes. Sedap, sedap n sgt sedappp... Comes with bun...

adoyyy... wat malu jer pic hampehhh....
pls excuse my cam, dia xmo focus laks...

We had Steamed Bread as dessert... Sedappp... Filled with planta & kaya... Bila dah kena steam, ia jadi ala2 melt n absorbed by the bread yang sungguh lembut... yummy... 1 set ada 2 keping roti, cut into 2...

lompat Faaris.. lompat...

Faaris & Faaiq pandai nyanyi lagu 'Demi Matahari' (Snada)...
So dia sangat malu bila semua usek dia...

Had great time then... Thx for the treat, Kazen... Looking 4ward 4 u to come back 2 Shah Alam... Nt kita pg minum 2geder2 ok... LOL

To Double F..... bigggggggg hugggggggggggggg

Lazatnya Lasagna

- please excuse my food entry di bulan Ramadhan ini , can't help sharing -

When we had the potluck Iftar with my girls, a dear friend of mine, Zarina brought a tray of lasagna... It was so lovely, i couldn't help myself and had it as my first dish... Then I went off for my margrib prayers... Or else, my prayer xkan khusyuk as i'll be thinking of the lasagna... Hah! boleh gitew...

After prayers, i continue with other dishes but still had a byte of the lasagna... It was so good, i even had it for sahur...

The lasagna came in casserole, it's not like the normal lasagna whereby one can go like so 'muak' after consuming it... As it can sometimes be too cheesy or creamy...

This one is just nice...

The pasta is Al-Dente, meaning it's well cooked yet still firm... Not too soggy or not well cooked...

The sauce is not too thick... And perfectly blends with bechamel sauce...

I can feel the meat chunks and mushroom...

The layer are placed neatly...

And, the cheese layer just took my breath away....

~x~x~x~x~x~

Talking about Lasagna, there is another Lasagna that I love so much...

It's served at Deli Cafe of Kota Damansara... The cafe is just next to Vichuda Thai Rest.... Near Kota Damansara NKVE exit / entrance...

The price is sangat reasonable, as in RM 6.90 (m not sure if dah increase)...

It's freshly baked upon order...

The pasta is really thin, loaded with chunks of meat (either chicken or beef)... The cheese spread are aplenty...

Served hot... Therefore, avoid touching the container...

Comes with bun...

Iftar @ Wong Solo

Had Iftar with hub's bestie, Edil and family... This time we had it at Wong Solo, Sec 7 Shah Alam..

This place is kinda cool... It brings authentic Indonesian concept. As in the deco and finishing. It's the concept of bamboo kinda 'anyaman' surrounding.

A key selling factor of this place is it has a 'bersila' section. They provide cushions to ensure customer's comfort. We wanted to seat there but those section were fully booked.

Wong Solo is always full for berbuka. Most.. or probably all the seats were already booked once we got there.. Not just booked, but most of the table had made a food pre-order... So does us...

Once we got there, our foods we served on the table... Together with popadum, dates, sliced of watermelon and of course their condiments as in sambal... There are 2 types of sambal, one is like sambal cili and the other one is kicap based. Both pun memang sangat pedasss... yet sedapppp...

Just have a glimpse on what we had then :

Hubs n I had Ayam Bakar. Since it was roasted, the portion jadi kinda small. Nevertheless the meat is sangat lembut. Guess it's been marinated well as the meat had absorbed all the 'bumbu-bumbu'...

This is keli penyet. Just as Ayam Bakar and other set does, it comes with rice, tauhu and tempe goreng, eggplant, a slice of cucumber and lettuce..

This is Ayam Penyet for lil Ayeesha... Initially, the sambal is supposed to be on top of the chicken but we requested a separate one as of coz Sya x makan pedas...

Sya is really independent... She eats by herself... and enjoyed the foods... Once in a while when she accidentally took some hot stuff, she will seek help from her Tok... She's so attached to her Granny....

N, Guess we've got something in common as both like soup...

As for beverage, most of us had Jus Alpukat / Avocado Juice... It's one of our favorite and also Izan's. As a cabin crew, she always had it in an indonesian Restaurant in Perth, everytime they had a stop there... Mmmm... Apparently, the alpukat is x berapa sedap la, it's like something missing.. Probably, it wasn't blended with ice kot...

with Edil's Mum, his sister, Izan and adorable Ayeesha...
~tq belanja kami, Auntie~

After berbuke, we suggested few places for them to spend some time at. Then, we decided to have a look at the nearby I-City... A drive through probably... They can't be long as Izan had a flight to London, the next morning...

But once we got there, everyone got excited and we had a good time there, especially for Ayesha... She got so xcited sampai xtaw nak pegi mana... Unfortunately, Edil left his camera.. So guna la my camera yang tidak sepertinya ini...

Best Friend Foreva...

with Izan yang owez gets me Fridge Magnets :)
thanx for your thoughts sweetie...

All in all, it was a great Iftar and we had good time at I-City... Thanx a lot to Edil and family for the treat and wonderful time... Great to have a wonderful friend with warm family... Alhamdulillah, we are blessed for this friendship... Thank you so much...

Red Mummy @ INTEKMA Resort

As mentioned in Red Mummy's blog, i've been inviting her to extend coverage thus berbuka with us at INTEKMA Resort since last year. Unfortunately, her schedule were pretty tight and couldn't make it..

Well, this year I extended another invitation and alhamdulillah, after few arrangements were made, we managed to find a day for this rendezvous...

Kak Red came over with her better half, Sirman and the kids... M looking forward 2 meet Gegirl actually... She's too adorable la... After going through the traffic & berbuka dalam keta, they made their way here... Kesian dorg had 2 rush 4 it... Felt bad, tho...

Somehow, I kinda adore Abang & Gegirl for the way they bring themselves... Sangat bagus la.. For instance, they know how to behave well, eat well and sgt independent... Makan pun senang, Abang had nasi putih, fried chicken and kuah sikit... Then he had ABC and cendol...

I can see that they were having so much fun running around the poolside area :)

Gegirl lagi best.. She actually ate nasi putih and fried kway teow... Once she's done, she had a plate of fruits... I couldn't help being amused by the way she ate rambutan...

From the moment she bite it, take it off, consumed it and taraaaaaaaa.... tinggal bijik jer... comeyyyy....

This is like the 'most expensive chair' for that particular moment of time... lol... With lappy and Kak Red's handbag... If the handbag itself cost a fortune, what more the content kan?
:D

nice highlight, akak :)

Lihatlah aksi Kad Red in getting a good shot... Siap turun padang... She somehow was amazed by our resident artist, Fuad... Indeed he is talented.. Good voice and communicating skill... Well, Kak Red sangat gigih and ended up eating dengan kuantiti yang sgt sikit.... Patutla slim... lol

All in all, I had a good time while having them as company... In fact, i'm so honored that Kak Red accepted the invitation despite her busy schedule... As in really, really honored... They're a sucha wonderful family...

Hope they had a good time as much as i did... Thanx again... from the bottom of my heart...

Potluck Iftar with My Lovely Girls ♥

It's a yearly do...

Every Ramadhan we'll make a point 2 meet and berbuka... As in me ad my Assunta buddies... Always been having it at hotels n all.. But we've changed the tradition to a potluck Iftar... It's convenient, hassle free and cost effective... lol...

with Fara, Zarina & Marissa (L-R)
how we wish that Zilah & Nadira is here with us...

This year, I decided to host... Discussed with my family... and we'll prepare the main dish... as in rice, lauk and vege...

Ikan Bawal 3 Rasa and Tempe sambal

As for vege, we had the so called Kerabu Paragliding and mixed vege...

Zarina brought Lasagna...
But we called it 'lazatnya'...
Memang lazat sangat...

Fara brought Kari Kepala Ikan...
Mesti mari!!!
Sampai nk tido, my hands still baru kari ok...
Well, ni lah penangan kari Al-Rafi...

Marissa brought Chocolate Cake exclusively made by her mum, the baking sifu...
Soft, moist, fluffy, sedap, sinful, what more can i say...

We decided to have a green team...
in conjunction with Ramadhan...
It was so green, so does the air...
was
actually unplanned ... it's a coincidence...

Fara's happy family

This 2 are buddies...
They are sucha BFF, the even sit with the same hand position... lol

Macam nk kena arrest pun ada... choiii!!!

This is cute lil Aryssa Illana, Marissa's bundle of joy...
Baru dapat kaki - so she sorta 'tawaf' the whole house...

~xoxo~

Everytime we meet, we'll talk, laughed, giggled, gossiped as typical girl's get together...

Friends come n go, but good friend last 4ever... InsyaAllah... That's how i wish.. Our friendship is sweet... We accept each other's flaw, we don't hold up grunge, we compromise and we understands each other's life, bz schedule and other commitments...

Initially, Iftar is a yearly do... But lately, we decided to have a monthly meet up session... Be it, makan-makan, karaoke, parties, or simply hang out.. We'll meet at least in 2 month... This friendship is too precious... Enuff said...

Love all of u....
Mwahhhsx...

Surprise Mak Esah

As i was preparing some dishes for an Iftar session with my girl friends, someone came over. Initially we tot it was our neighbor. But I was so surprised to realize that it was actually Megat Eusofe yang datang... Uiks! i just talked 2 him and he was still in Seremban, then...

As i walked to the door, memang betul la Megat datang... dengan plastik bewarna pink di tangan...

"Kak Amy... me datang nak anta Nasi Lemak Mak Esah ni... special from Seremban"

Aiyoooo.... So sweetttttttt........

Orang memberi... kita merasa... Kebetulan, dishes for my upcoming guest pun dah siap... So megat u tunggu kejap... Nak cepat? Ada aku kesah? hahhaaha... tunggu jelah.... Then I handed him some Kerabu Ikan Bilis & Kacang Panjang (atau nama saitifiknya Kerabu Peragliding... y? x ask... only me n my cuz, Raia knows y... lol) and Ayam Masak Bodoh... lol... Saja.. Nak bagi rasa... Hope they liked it...

Nasi Lemak Mak Esah memang authentic... For only RM1, one can't expect much... But to me, it's really worth as the portion is aplenty... Wrapped in a huge banana leaf is great selling point for this nasi lemak... I've always like the idea of separating the sambal as not every1 takes a lot of sambal... The separation lets one choose to take berapa banyak samabal they wish to consume...

As for the taste, it's not bad... People says, nasi 2 berasa la... Not too tawar as some nasi lemak does... The sambal memang sedap and x pedas...

All in all, berbaloi la for RM1.oo... Well nasi lemak kg. Baru pun almost the same price but lagi sikit... Opps! sorryyyyy....

Plus... My mum kata sambal dia, masak betul2.. As in well done la... Idokla akan sakit perut... And she said sedap... x sia2 datang dr jauh....

As for Megat's review in FB :
"Terubat kerinduan..semasa mengunyah nasi lemak mak esah. Ini contoh peniaga melayu yg bagus.Kedai buruk jerk, macam nak roboh.Jual nasi lemak pun seringgit satu. Tapi , masya allah...nasi sedap , sambal sedap [ banyak pulak tu].Daun pisang yg bungkus pun..sebesau alam. Ini satu-satu peniaga , yang buat me mengerti..nilai sebenar 1 ringgit !!!"

Ia memang sedap... But to me, it's really special as it's the thought of them wanting me to taste it that matters...

Thanks a lot, Ray & Megat....
Love u guys heaps...

Our Favorite Murtabak

Amongst all the murtabak that are sold in bazar ramadhan, there is this murtabak that i love so much... It's available at bazar Ramadhan sec 13, Shah Alam. We've always been looking forward everytime Ramadhan arrive. Not sure how long it's been there, but we've been consuming it since 2005 or 2006.

Ramai gak try 2 imitate, but it's definitely not the same... Been so long, we notice the difference...

The queue are normally long... One could spend around 10-15 minutes during peak hours.. But if dah dekat buka, it won't be so bad... These guys had always been there eversince :)

2 us, this murtabak is not the same with ordinary murtabak (except for murtabak Singapore of coz). The size is slightly bigger and the fillings are more. If one bites it, one can easily feel the meat and egg.. yummy... It comes in either chicken or mutton. The price is slightly more than normal murtabak.

Juz have a look at the ingredients... Chicken / mutton mixture, onion and eggs...

According to our observation, they are mixed together and cooked first. Unlike the normal murtabak whereby they'll wrap everything onto the skin and cooked together...

Once the filling are done, they will bring it to the skin and pan fry for the second time. Guess this is what made the murtabak special... Well, the skin is sangat nipis... So it's more to filling compared to skin...

Yummy... yummyyyyyyy :)
