Deepa Vege

2 years back, i blogged about a Deepavali invitation in my another blog, do click here to review.. This year, we got the same invite by Auntie Visa, Mum's exercise buddy... Came in the evening, by then the 'kolam' dah smudge...

Besides her warm and caring personality, one thing that i love about going to Auntie Visa's house is that she is a vegetarian and she'll serve strictly vegetarian food... It means no animal or living creature (bak kata my cuz, SAJ - hewan) including eggs... She is sucha strong vegetarian... No play2 ok...

These are the dishes served at her house during Deepavali... I do love vege food, tremendously... Apparently, i was not well than... Couldn't take a single solid food except liquid - as in what comes in will go out... Opps! enuff said... so i just have a look at Mum while she was eating.. and took photos... dalam hati mmg nak makan, but bak kata Ray "i just can't take it anymoreeee"

Nasi Briyani
- using Basmathi Rice

Tosei
- the tosei is really light, delicious and x masam...
she's so kind and shared the recipe with us...

Chutney - taken with tosei

less oil papadum

This is called Pachedi - vegetarian salad
main ingredient : cucumber & yoghurt

Vegetarian Chicken Masak Sambal

Vegetarian Lamb Rendang
- made of Mushroom & Soy

Mixed Vegetable

One of the ingredient being used is Meal Maker / Soyameal... It's dried and needs to be soaked before cooking... Captured the nutrient fact for reference...

No fat and cholesterol... but kinda high n Carbs.... hmmmmm....

This is how it looked like - raw

and after being cooked..

this kuih ros / kuih goyang is made without egg...
just coconut milk n flour.. plus sugar of coz...

btw, Aunty Visa made a wonderful vegetarian Chocolate Cake by switching egg to coke... and still taste good... x berlemak n lite...

While i was lying on her couch, saw this beautiful spot of her balcony and took a photo of it... It's a combination of the afternoon sun and her plants... Nice... Act. these kinda snap are actually inspired my Megat... Me setakat berangan jersss... Huishhh... Harus jauh panggang dari api... lol...

ps :
Auntie Visa gave me a call the next day asking if i'm alright... How sweet of her to do so... I'm really touched...

  5. capo grande,
thx for dropping by n 4 yr compliments..

this is not the normal type of chicken n lamb... the one considered as vegetarian is the main ingredient being used...

the chicken n lamb is not the normal meat that we normally use.
it's an 'artificial' meat made of soy or mushroom.
it only contained artificial flavoring of chic n lamb..
but they created in such a way it even looked textured as the original meat, (and tasted alike too) when actually it's all made of plants.. isn't it creative...
