Giantic Ketupat & such

Hope it's not too late to wish everyone 'Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha'..

Went back to my in law's and saw this humongous ketupat.. It was as big as the plate! My my my... Ada yang kata, macam orang je yg anyam ketupat.. lol

Mum in law bought the sarung ketupat from Balikpapan, Indonesia... Unlike our daun ketupat, the leave was a bit dried up thus it last a few month.. The rice was not pre-filled. It is to be filled before boiling, unlike our nasi himpit segera...

As for the taste, it is slightly different from our typical ketupat.. It has a different aroma came from the leaf...

Beside the giant ketupat.. I'd just like to share what we had for Aidil Adha :

Learned how to make ketupat satay from Mum. The only ketupat i can make is ketupat satay which i learned from Dad.. It is the simplest.. After several tried, i still didn't succeed in producing a single ketupat bawang :( But not giving up trying...

the result - a bit dried up as it has been donkey since we make ketupat..

goodies from neighbour - lontong n ketupat palas...

imported lemang Terengganu - lemak berkrim disukai ramai...
(should one goes to Terengganu, will see gerai jual lemang by the roadside at the area of Kemaman / Kijal - RM 10 for 3)

 Ayam masak kicap & halia

Ayam Masak Kari Kering Mamak Style...

 the common masak lodeh -
just to balance up the menu so it won't be too dry & for some vegetable sake
(despite the santan)
