Mohd Chan Abdullah's Yam Ring

Had dinner at Mohd Chan Abdullah of Bandar Baru Bangi...
- located at the block behind Pappa Rich & Ice Room...


This actually another branch besides it's premier one at Kelana Jaya.. Serves Chinese Muslim Cuisine and got really hectic on Saturday Night... Especially after Payday.. lol... There's even waiting list to get a table...

This place is well known for it's Pau and Dim Sum.... Tried the mushroom Dim Sum... Have to consume within 5-10 minutes... If dah sejuk, x sedap.. It'll get hard and sticky... Hubs tried the kaya pau - but i guess it's lotus kot... sangat fluffy n the filling is not too sweet...

As for me, I personally felt that the most attractive item is the YAM RING which is priced at RM20.00... The description of this dish, according to the manu card is 'Yam Ring Masak Kong Boh' seafood...

It's seafood (prawn & squids) cooked Kong Poh or Kumpoh style, with soy sauce and dried chilli... Placed in somekinda 'bowl / container' made of Yam (keladi)... Guess the Yam is smashed a formed into a shape, coated and deep fried.

The Yam Ring is sangat sedap.. It's soft n gebu yet crispy in the outside... and sangat mengenyangkan... The seafood is not bad either... And i do love the cashew nuts...

Besides that, we also tried 'Kam Heong' chicken with rice...

Suggestion : it is better if chicken fillet were used as it i boneless... if with tulang n all macam kureng seswai la to be cut into small pieces... unless it's one big portion of chicken...

and we also tried the fried wantan... This one is sedap... Crispy on the outside and the fillings were delicious...

Best dipped with King Kampong Koh - Garlic Chilli Sauce... Every table are placed with 1 bottle each...

Well my in law's dekat sini... So here i am la almost every weekend... Sebaik la dorg stay dekat somewhere yang banyak food channel... so i can continue with my Eat out Loud & JJCM thingy... lol

To Pendang with ♥

Went to Pendang, Kedah, few weeks ago, in conjunction with my cousin's wedding.. Eventhough it's been sometimes, still wanna share...

I found Pendang interesting coz it's sucha nice place to be at... It's a small town located several KM away from Alor Setar... Just about 30 - 45 drive... The town is cute... I shall address it as a Humble City...

Regardless being outskirt, it has few attraction that made me feel that Pendang is special, in it's own way...

The Accommodation

My uncle booked a cosy place for us to stay at Pendang Lake Resort..

X sangka.. Pendang has a beautiful n huge lake... it's quite a tourist attraction... but sayang, it has no access.. boleh tengok jer... probably got case kot... but for someone who was gonna sleep only a few meters away from the lake, do i need 2 go great length and find out? i doubt it... lol

It's quite a huge area here... It bring the concept of somekind of chalet / simplified hotel room. Memang comfortable. Basic need are there, towel, coffee making facilities, tv with astro, etc.. But there were no water heater... Nevertheless, service memang prompt.

We stayed in this block. Siap ada Dataran lagi... So it's suitable for sukaneka, poco2 n all... There is even a proper surau, meal venue and banquet hall available...

The Delicacies

One of the famous dish that i synonym to northern sate of Malaysia is non other than Laksa... So we took an evening drive around town yg agak chumells itew for a cuppa... So jumpalah this one place located next to Tabung Haji and along the RM2 shop lots... Not sure of the name, but this place is peaceful n clean...

Both tasted good - esp. the laksa... not too sure how much it cost as my Uncle (mum's bro) had the bill on him... TQ TQ...

Later in the evening, we had another JJCM session... Unlike Shah Alam & KL, most kedai and stalls dah tutup by 10... Lupa lak... Too contented with my cousins i guess... So we found this street of stalls... It's by the roadside, opposite Petronas (guess there's only 1 Petronas in Pendang)... Near the traffic light, precisely...

- had to add few squeezes of lime wedges...

This Fried Kway Teow is sangat sedapppp....

This Nasi Lemak was for breakfast...
It's yellow... with small chunk of Chicken n Ikan Bilis...

The Ceremony

Moments of giving the final touch for the hantaran

The Solemnization (nikah) ceremony took place at Masjid in Kg. Alor Pudak... About 10 km from the place we stayed in... Sorry to say but we really felt sorry for the Masjid... It's like not been well taken cared off... The size is one thing, but the maintenance is another... Probably fund is a major constrain kot..

Didn't mean to create sucha drama in my blog... nor having a diary kinda entry... esp. having a crayzee tyme of fun n laughter few moments ago... all those are far from my mind...

who would ever thought... a few cupcakes that looked rather biasa (as in nothing extraordinary)... could actually cheer a heart up... thus, became somekind of remedy and somehow cheered my Darlink Megat up... x caya? read his entry... lol

they actually bought this huge raga... The customs were so surprise and asked "di Malaysia nggak ada, ya pak?" hehehee.... Selamba je they brought it in with their baggage... Dorang memang tegar...

Ampiang Kacang

- it is some kinda 'bepang kacang'... but shaped like 'rempeyek'.
at first, i tot i had a chocolate base but Abah said it's brown sugar...
the sugar base sangat tebal.. nuts lover akan suka... the base agak keras for me...

Makaroni Goreng katanya...
Betul ke macaroni? I doubt it... Rope je sama...

Not sure the name of this snack...
but i sangat sedap, i loved it... macam ada perisa daun sup...
still remember they served this with bakso in Rest. in Hartamas... Afung Bakso, if m not mistaken... They fried it big an put Mee Ayam on top of it...

Made in Bandung ♥

As Megat n Ray broke the news that they were going for a vacation to Bandung, I am the one who got excited about it... Always been in love the so called Kota Kembang... The last tyme i went was way back in 2007.

Therefore, i've got 1001 stuff on my mind to kirim from them. Apparently, I didn't get the chance to meet them before they left thus, i didn't get to pass any cash. So, if 'kirim air liur' xkanlah nak kirim segala tok nenek...

I limited the stuff i wanted to the most prior - a material for my upcoming cuz's n-gagement aka E-Day (bak kata Waty)... The theme will be GRAY!!

They so skeptical at the first place... Takut x reti pilih la... n so on... but, knowing them i know that i can always count on their taste as they know what's the best n suits me...

Despite all the rambang mata syndrome that they experienced... juz have a look at the material that Ray was holding.. nice kan?

It a bluish gray material with a glittery motive... It looked so rich n exclusive... Need to find something good to match it with... The material is so soft... Hubs kata, it's some kinda silk... and the price memang sangat worth for this kinda material... Ray kata, if i xnak, his sis already got her eyes on it... Mau idok?? Terus je pegi umah dorg to get it... X sabo uols...

Meanwhile, Megat got me fridge magnets... yeayyyy... Material, material gaks, but FM is WAJIB... lol... He got several tortoise for his collection and gave me one... Eventhough it's not Bandung in-scripted, but the feature is so real..

And... Another rubber typo FM inscripted Bandung - Paris Van Java... with an image of a scooter which marks one of their main form of transportation...

The Tribute Dinner

It was a dinner organized personally by our General Manager as a tribute for the Sales & Marketing Department for all the contribution to the company for all these while... ecehh...

We were so enthusiastic about the dinner... we even dressed in theme - it's RED & BLACK for the Sales... some of us even buy new clothes... gigih kan... n some dapatkan 'sponsor' - opps! off record ya...

Nevertheless, this dinner goes especially for our Sales Manager who will be leaving the company **sob sob** Her resignation was officially announced during this event (eventhough we knew it earlier) and replacement, too..

It was such an exclusive rendezvous as it was only among the department and Heads of Department.

Took place at Italiannies, Empire... Not gonna say much about the occasion... as i've 'said enough' in FB... Juz wanna share what we had... as it was sucha glorious dinner.. we had wonderful luxurious cuisine... (some may find it normal, but it's pretty luxurious to me)

didn't get the name as it wasn't mine...

The on right one was mine : Fling - strawberry Splash...

From my observation, fling is similar like ice blended but the ice is united (macam ice kepal) as 1 object. As we sip, we juz sip the cool juice instead of the the ice as well... I prefer it this way. At times, I just can't stand ice blended... sangat sejukkk... but not the kinda sejuk that gave the 'effect' 2 your head.. one will only understand if they experienced it...

the rest were the common ones like Ice Lemon tea, coke n such... i didn't see the need to incorporate those... guess it looks the same je.. so xperlu, kot...

since this was a dinner treat, i didn't actually scrutinize the whole menu to get the names of the meal i had, like i normally does... seganla, org belanja uolss... so i juz write according to what know.. instead of the actual names labelled by Italiannies... (for example, Chicken Burger instead of Mc Chicken)

Ceaser Salad
- the veges are so crunchy... perfectly blended with those cheese n other ingredients...

Deep Fried Squid with tomato dipping
- the dip was really sedap...

Meatball Spaghetti

- wonderful gravy. The meatballs were so huge and 'meatish' (jgn pervt, pls..lol)... seswai for beef lovers...

Cajun Chicken
- really huge portion - quarter chicken each...


Peperoni Pizza
- looks good but didn't try it...

FETTUCCINE with tomato cubes & SALMON!!!

The salmon drove me crayzee as i love salmon so much... Nevertheless i was almost full, so what i did - i picked up only salmon n tomato cubes and combined it with the Cajun gravy... yummiehhhh....

while we were dining, we were a liveband entertainment... this guy has got quitta voice!!!

After dinner and while the band was taking a break, the GM broke the news saying that our beloved friend, Puan Intan Syafinaz (left) is leaving the company. Sorry, m not good in acting. So i didn't act surprise but juz kept silent instead... Meanwhile, Puan Azzrin (the one next to me) will be taking charge of the department...

All in all, Italiannies is a great place to dine in. Only been here twice (including this visit). The first one was a treat by my beloved Maizan and we had the set meal. The ambiance is really cosy, ada live band, great service and good food.

Felt honored to be treated in such- Alhamdulillah. My deepest gratitude goes to my GM - it must've cost him a fortune... lol...
