Visit to Gani Pasembur of Padang Kota

Had a trip up north in conjunction with my niece's wedding occasion... The wedding was held at Seberang Jaya but since we were already at Penang, might as well pay a lil visit to the island... Padang Kota Lama precisely (as Mum calls it Esplanade).

The main reason for us to be there is to check out the Pasembur... There are 2 Pasembur in Padang Kota but we always go for GANI Pasembur.. The other one x berapa nak sedap.. N sombong plak tu...

Tip :
Do seat some where around the stall that u wanna eat at.. If u seat elsewhere, u will have to order from the stall surrounding your seat.. Talking thru experience...

Just have a look at the choices they have at Gani.. Loved the way they arrange the food stuff... FYi, the 'cucur udang' is delicious.. The best amongst other items... It's top right layer... N also top left... Sangat crispy...

But be careful of what u take.. U may be surprise with the price if u're careful... Avoid taking luxurious items such as crab n prawn, unless u are willing to pay for it...

Joke mentioned by Edil in my FB pic :
"ada tourist pekena pasemboq..pastu tersemboq dengaq harga..kekeke..kena katok!.
p/s..xdak kena mengena ngan gerai ni..hehe."

Taraaaaa!!!!
Look at served pasembur... Meriah kan... We had kuih udang, potato, fish cake, fucuk, etc.. Served with sengkuang and cucumber... Cost around RM 19.00.. Mum says the gravy taste good... Kinda sweet, but not too bad...

Even tapau-ted to sets to ea taken back home - and it cost RM 35.00 for both :O

Besides passembur, we also had Mee Udang which cost RM8.00... The taste - ok ok lar... Nothing extraordinary... But the prawn are big n fresh...

Gosh!!! Penang is sucha food heaven...
Gonna really gonna miss Penang...

Ikang Celup Tepung @ ICT

One of the specialty of Terengganu is Ikan Celup Tepung. The local had commercialized it by making its abbreviation of ICT to be a commercial name... If has Shah Alam I-city, Terengganu has ICT plak... lol

This signboard really amuses us la...

We had all these as our late lunch @ Tunch (Tea + Lunch) meal... It's pretty filling n reasonable, tho...

ikan kembong goreng is priced at RM 2.00 each
- the fishes are huge n fresh

sotong goreng -priced at RM 6.00 per plate

fried prawn for also RM 6.00 per plate

accompanied with sauce

All the items are really fresh and tasty... It's so fresh, i could feel the 'sweetness' dekat hujung-hujung... lol... Since it's fresh, it's really soft n juicy. It tasted so good, it's better eaten without the sauce, to feel the originality n pureness of it's taste...

ice cream abc

Additional info :
for drinks, do ask for less sugar as most of the drinks are really sweeettttt....

We were inspired to have this delicacies when a dear friend of us, Edil tagged us on FB, on a plate of Sotong Goreng... They had it in Rhu 10...

Apparently it was a bit far from where we stayed. And we remembered that Dad use to have these somewhere near the beach and airport area. So we headed straight to Pantai Teluk Ketapang and found lots of choices here...

We choose Stall no 9 - Gerai Pak Awang as it was pretty clean n comfy... n the pakcik pun ala2 friendly... Furthermore we saw the dishes that belongs to the table next to us... looks pretty good... n it does taste really goooodddddd....

Then we took a drive along the reclaimed land of Pantai Teluk KetapaNG, by the airport
(not KetapaK as i how i mis-spelled it on FB :)

Jalang-jalang carik Makang

It's a little trip to Kuala Terengganu. On our way there, we dropped by Chukai, Kemaman to check out some local specialties which is so famous. It's a must tho... We had otak-otak, sata, pais ikan, keropok lekor and karipap ikan...

It's at Warung Otak-otak Che Wan... A really famous spot as most of the customers are from other states... KL and Johorean mostly...

Just take a turn at Masjid Geliga, straight ahead till u meet a T-junction... Take right... Warung Che Wan is located on your right... Opposite bungalows...

Opens at around 2.30 pm till dusk...

The otak-otak are cooked using the traditional way - arang!!! No gas whatsoever...

otak-otak

stick of sata

sata

the otak-otak contains real fish inside..

Pais ikan selar kuning...
priced at RM1.00 each

KARIPAPISH - bak kata Megat...
one good thing about karipap in Terengganu is the fish filling...
not the normal potato type...
a colleague of mine, Sabrina loves it so much, she calls it 'dadah grade A' lol

Then we dropped by a stall selling keropok lekor... Its made fresh and fried to order... Gosh!! it's sangat sedap... Very the fishish... Not like the ones in town yang banyak tepung jer, n so tough... This is so pure as the content of fish are aplenty... Harga ok lak 2...

As we reached Kuala Terengganu, we checked out the pasa malam.. True that all nite markets are merely the same... but we juz love to see other pasar malam of a different place and state...

We brought a traditional putu piring which is known as Putu Kuning... It yellow, made of beras... The taste ada ala-ala berempah di hujung-hujung... hahaha... A pack of 3 for RM 1.oo...

To Pendang with ♥

Went to Pendang, Kedah, few weeks ago, in conjunction with my cousin's wedding.. Eventhough it's been sometimes, still wanna share...

I found Pendang interesting coz it's sucha nice place to be at... It's a small town located several KM away from Alor Setar... Just about 30 - 45 drive... The town is cute... I shall address it as a Humble City...

Regardless being outskirt, it has few attraction that made me feel that Pendang is special, in it's own way...

surrounded by Paddy Field (almost) all the way

The Accommodation
My uncle booked a cosy place for us to stay at Pendang Lake Resort..

X sangka.. Pendang has a beautiful n huge lake... it's quite a tourist attraction... but sayang, it has no access.. boleh tengok jer... probably got case kot... but for someone who was gonna sleep only a few meters away from the lake, do i need 2 go great length and find out? i doubt it... lol

It's quite a huge area here... It bring the concept of somekind of chalet / simplified hotel room. Memang comfortable. Basic need are there, towel, coffee making facilities, tv with astro, etc.. But there were no water heater... Nevertheless, service memang prompt.

this are the higher ends accommodation

We stayed in this block. Siap ada Dataran lagi... So it's suitable for sukaneka, poco2 n all... There is even a proper surau, meal venue and banquet hall available...

The Delicacies

One of the famous dish that i synonym to northern sate of Malaysia is non other than Laksa... So we took an evening drive around town yg agak chumells itew for a cuppa... So jumpalah this one place located next to Tabung Haji and along the RM2 shop lots... Not sure of the name, but this place is peaceful n clean...

the Laksa

Bihun Sup

Both tasted good - esp. the laksa... not too sure how much it cost as my Uncle (mum's bro) had the bill on him... TQ TQ...

Later in the evening, we had another JJCM session... Unlike Shah Alam & KL, most kedai and stalls dah tutup by 10... Lupa lak... Too contented with my cousins i guess... So we found this street of stalls... It's by the roadside, opposite Petronas (guess there's only 1 Petronas in Pendang)... Near the traffic light, precisely...

this Laksa is good but kurang masam
- had to add few squeezes of lime wedges...

This Fried Kway Teow is sangat sedapppp....

This Nasi Lemak was for breakfast...
It's yellow... with small chunk of Chicken n Ikan Bilis...
only RM 1.30...

Pulut Sambal - only 0.50 sen :)
- the serunding sangat sedappp...

The Ceremony

Moments of giving the final touch for the hantaran

The Solemnization (nikah) ceremony took place at Masjid in Kg. Alor Pudak... About 10 km from the place we stayed in... Sorry to say but we really felt sorry for the Masjid... It's like not been well taken cared off... The size is one thing, but the maintenance is another... Probably fund is a major constrain kot..

The Bride - guess she's better without her make up :)

Congrats dear cuz, Shazwan Salleh @ Wawan & Siti Khadijah :)

ps : pengapit lelaki x bley bla... hehehhe

Rombongan Cik Sally ke 'Meow2 Hill'

It's time for charity.....
(not to brag, juz 2 share)

After proper planning, hard work, effort and thorough preparation done, its time for us to hand over the collections (ie. cash and other stuff) to the selected families. So here we are, heading to Bukit Kucing, Jeram Selangor to accomplish our mission...

M not gonna say much about this event as official posting will be published via DFC's Official Website... Just to share few pics on the wonderful moment we were there...

Syuk, Kak Nani & Waty is the major strength of this event...
Couldn't have done it without them... as well as other team members...

with Erna, Shima Moshi, Neeta n Mieza at Tok Imam's house...
sebut tok Imam mcm nk menikah la plakss... lol
but this Imam is sggt supportive and gave us full co-operation...

with my luvely Megat :)

heading thru the first house with Dafi other rombongan...
a candid by Dr. Joey...

fyi, ini bukan printer yea... lol

at the first house (all together there were 5 houses)...
macam rombongan bawak hantaran la plaks...
pls excuse my facial expression, bukan x ikhlas but the kotak is sggt beras, n i was undergoing a 'stomach discomfort' then... adoyyy

Alhamdulillah... as we can see, the response was overwhelming. This was like 1 set of goodies to be handed over to them. The core item was cash n beras. Besides those, there are also hampers, foodstuff, baju2, toys and lots more...

With the first family... She is a single mother...

This was at the last house... Rumah ni sumbangan PPRT...
I lyke this Makcik... She was being extra friendly and sggt byk cakap..

A shot a Imam's house before going back...
Imam ni mmg sgt sporting, sampai dress code pun merah jugak...
tapi pic ni mmg xblay bla.. mcm gambo skola...

All in all... It was a long yet happy day... Not just happy because of the charity thingy... But happy as we managed to make other people happy...

Thanks to all the contributors (be it in any form, banyak atau sikit) - semoga Allah membalas jasa baik kalian...

Most important to everyone involved in this project... Xperlu mention as u know who u are.. Proud on all of u....
