Commemorate Earth Hour @ Grand Dorsett, Subang

Heyyyyy there...

It's been sometimes since I last blog... and it was at my previous blog. How sad that I had 2 start all over again...

Well this is technically my 1st entry... It's about Earth Hour... I've got my own significant. According to my darlink hubby, being 'on leave' from blogging is like Earth Hour, where my blog 'paused' or a moment... And I resumed... Despite the different URL...

Initially I wanted 2 join Earth Hour at Marriott Putrajaya as there were performance of the Hotel Mania cast... But I was assigned by my boss 2 represent the Company as they couldn't make it. Since the capacity for Marriott was limited, i passed and give my space 2 others. Glad they had fun there :)

This invitation came from the General Manager, Datin Jasmine via Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH). It was pretty exclusive as it was also for the in house guest. Felt really honored being there... This event took place at the piano lounge...

As we arrived, I was given a goody bag... A non woven green bag of Grand Dorsett which contains a box written "plant a tree" in support of Earth hour... I was printed on a card, recycled from their 'Life Magazine'... When i opened it, it was a jar, with few stones in it... Cool huh...

Besides commemorating Earth Hour, there were also exhibition by the isle... There were vegetarian foods, eco pack, organic snacks and somekind of crafts made of recycled items...

Food Pack of Eco Pak - made of 100% recycle products & free of CFC

Baby when the lights go out... Lallalaaa.... Thing were really funnnn... All the pics below were taken (by my humble camera) flash off... So please excuse the shakiness... It wouldn't be fun with the flash on... No sense of 'darkness'...

candles signifies 60 minutes of Earth Hour...

Staircase to the Banquet / Function rooms

Other surroundings of the lobby

Juz having some fun 'cam-whoring' with the candles...

On the other hand, Dorsett has this 'Tree of Pledge' placed at the entrance... It has this contest on the best way to save the planet. The winner will get a chance to stay at their Suite Room. But all i see was everyone was merely scribbling anything that they wish (of coz related 2 the Earth Hour / environment) in the cards provided.. So did i... LOL...

the card was in the shape of leaves made from boxes
(anther good way to recycle)

Basically, the guest will be given a marker to jot down their thoughts...

Then, juz hang in at the tree of pledge...

This pic was taken right when the lights resume...

With the guess of honor - Datin Paduka Sharifah Mazlina

She is the first Asian Lady who conquered frozen north & south poles- ALONE... She shared her experience briefly... Much to her surprise, sadly most of the iceberg were melting and things wasn't as cold as she expected to be... It was all because of the pollution... huhuhu...

with the General Manager of Grand Dorsett, Datin Jasmine Heng Abdullah...
I adore her!!!

with Nurrina of MAS...Pleasure meeting her...

All in all, i had a wonderful evening... Great food, learn new things... Promise myself to my part in conserving this earth... ie.. save electricity, recycle paper n other stuff i can... I love mother nature...

note : will blog about the foods in my following entry sometime soon...
