Cake for the Royals

My workplace got the opportunity to serve the Royals in conjunction with Hari Keputeraan.. I was asked to do a favor by the Chef to get a Birthday Cake or Kek Hari Keputeraan... They didn't have enough hands to do it as it was quite a last minute thingy...

Called up my ever wonderful Laily, whom are always making me yummy quality cakes.. one of it was the cuppies for my my cabin-crew friend...  the Malaysia Airline Cuppies...

As for the birthday cake, we settled for Vanilla Marigold with Fruit Jam Layer coated with Chocolate Garnache ... Emailed the inscription... And this was the outcome :

  A simple yet sweet design...

As for the logo, the reason why she did it at the base was she actually stenciled it and coloured it with icing... Wonderful job Laily...
 

Since i was ordering for the company, i included an order for myself n colleague to gobble... The vanilla cake is really moist.. Most of us liked it including Mum.. Mum said it had to be refrigerated coz of the moist.. Apparently one of my colleage didn't like it.. She said a bit kering... Ntahla.. She compared with moist chocolate cake kot... Different people different taste buds... Well, the rest loved it..

Just to share other cake by Laily as i had at my bff, Maizan's house.. During her nephew cim her Dad's birthday...

This cuppies are for her family.. But she gave me some to gobble... Aren't they juz cute? And tasty to.. it's Vanilla & Chocolate Chips..

Durian of Uptown Damansara

Had dinner at Uptown Damansara Hawker's... Then we decided to check out some durian as the smell was like welcoming us to drop by.. Furthermore, I've been longing to have some for quit sometimes... We had it at the Durian stall at SS21.. Opposite Starbucks...

We had quite a premium one - not sure what the name is but it's something like 'Kulit Hijau' according to the guy... The Chinese man is rather honest as we tot it was D24 but he denied.. He could've easily claimed it to be D24 as we are uncertain... But luckily he didn't... He said it will only be available sometime next week..

 

 This small durian easily cost us RM 17.. 1 kg plus... But it was satisfactory, the flesh were so thick.. Only contains 7 inside... Including 1 'kucing tidur' - referring to the long one.. First pic n the left side... Kan macam kuceng yang tido... That's my favorite... so normally no one will kacau :)

 There are several other type of durian here... There's also durian buffet that cost RM 10 per person.. But only applicable for 'durian kampung'..

It is so convenient to be here as this stall provides.. Plain water n tempat cuci tangan...

 and... this is supposed to a tip from generation.. Everytime after consuming durian i'll pour water and drink straight from it's skin... It's not to let the durian 'harm' us later... Wallahua'lam...

 Nevertheless, i still felt the heat later... Probably coz I had oyster omelet previously... And puasa on the next day... No wonder i felt so weak..

All in all, the durian was great... Satisfied even just 1 unit...

Breakfast at Pasar PJ

Hubs a some work to be done at Petaling Jaya on a fine Sunday morning... Followed him as it was an off day.. Thought of having breakfast.. Wondering where to have it..  (Adenium suggested to have lontong at sec 14 but was at another side) 

Since i was in the 'reminiscing childhood memories' mood, took him to PJ Market.. The place i normally go marketing when i was in PJ. Yes! it was indeed the wet market but i remembered there was a section for food...  

Just to share what we had :

 

 Murtabak -it's so comel.. RM 3 jer..

 yet so thick.. filled with lotsa meat n onion..

Apom

As far as I'm concerned, apom is an authentic Indian meal / dessert... A bit hard to find a good one... It's has some crispy edges (macam kerak) n fluffy in the inside... A little sweet... Accompanied with some kind of gravy.. Macam santan cair.. Semi-sweet..    

ps : our family calls it SERABAI (bukan serabai as in yang comot n bersepah tu eh!!) but of a simmilar yet different type.. but Serabai xde kerak2..

Never had it before, so i chose to have it mixed...

Bet this is the man behind this stall.. Runs it with his children.. Heard from the lady next me that this is the best apom in town.. True in fact... Besides apom, there are other dishes such as tosei, rawa tosei, capatti.. etc...

Missing Dad on Father's Day

Wishing a Happy Fathers Day to all dads of the world... Indeed u guys are blessed with wonderful kids to prolong your generation...

As for me, I stopped celebrating Father's Day with my biological dad since 2006...
Surah Fatihah, Yasin.. n such... are the only gift that i could give...

As per my cousin's, Bulan Kayangan :
"Al-fatihah buat semua Ayahanda2 yang masih bersama kita mahupun yang telah pergi lebih dahulu...
Semoga cahaya Fatihah menyinari persemadian mereka dan juga menyinari perjalanan kehidupan Ayahanda yang masih ada..'

Despite the fact i've lost my dad... I still have my Father in law & wonderful uncles to cherish... May they be blessed with good health, longevity, prosperity, n wellness...

All in all, i miss dad... semoga Allah mencucuri rahmat ke rohnya.. ditempatkan dikalangan orang2 beriman...

Miss him tremendously :((

Tafufa Goreng

Found a great snack at Bandar Baru Bangi. It located at Section 4 (if m not mistaken).. Amongst  the stalls next to Restaurant Yus.. Other stall sells Putu Piring, Pisang Goreng n such... But this one is rather unique.. N new to me... x certain if there are other entrepreneur that sells this before..

Initially, when hubs said that he was getting 'tauhu goreng', i tot it was juz like the normal ones like pisang goreng.. But when i reached there, i saw a totally different of 'tauhu goreng'.. No wonder it's called taufufah goreng...

 

 see.. sangat kemas kan... n x oily pun...

The tofu is some kind of soft tofu... Once it's fried, it tends to get crispy outside yet really soft in the inside..

Then it is placed in a container (tapau box precisely).. Topped with sauce.. One may choose between sweet or spicy type of sauce.. They kinda 'kelar' it first to ensure the sauce absorbs deeply..

Topped by crushed peanuts... Another layer of sauce again + peanut.. Finally sprinkled with sesame @ bijan...

 By the time we got home... The sauce are mostly penetrated to the tofu...

They are so x kedekut sauce... See... Almost half container is filled with sauce...

Lalala.... serious sedap... n lembuttt...

 

 It is price at RM 2 .00 for single.. and RM 3.50 for double...

The stall is taken cared by two young gentlemen. Sorang masak / goreng tofu and sorang do the finishing part plus cashiering..  I'm amazed by the way they prepare it... Sangat neat and tidy...

Don't be surprise if there's long queue awaiting...

5th year huh!! Guess our friendship's been around for sometimes.. n still going strong.. Thax for being such a wonderful buddy...

be it 1001 reasons, but all in all, m just a bit drifted from the blogging world.. Hope to gain my senses back...
